Amazon India launched 'Karigar Mela' to sell tribal handicrafts in partnership with Tribes India

Amazon India plans to sell local and tribal Indian handicrafts and has launched KarigharMela in partnership with Tribes India.
As per Fashion Network, the partnership will provide Amazon customers an access to over 1.2 lakh unique handicrafts and handloom products that include art forms like bidri, dhokra, ikkat, patachitra, and blue art pottery.
Amazon will offer the karigar sellers 100 percent selling on Amazon fee waiver for two weeks from August 30 to September 12.
AmitAgarwal, Country Head, Amazon, believes, the initiatives will empower indigenous craftspeople, weavers, and tribal artisans and help the rich legacy of Indian art and craft to thrive.
Pravir Krishna, Managing Director, TRIFED adds, the partnership has enabled the federation to take Made in India tribal products to customers across the country and the world.
Launched in New Delhi in 1999, Tribes India brand is owned by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) and currently has 131 retail outlets across India.
