BGMEA President stresses on collaborative approach among buying houses, buyers and manufacturers to create win-win situation

A delegation of Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) called on BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at BGMEA’s PR office in Gulshan, Dhaka on January 4.
The BGBA team included President K. I. Hossain, Secretary General Md. Aminul Islam, Vice President Md. Anwar Shahid and Acting Treasurer Abdullah Al Mahmood (Ferdows).
BGMEA First Vice President Syed Nazrul Islam, Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Director Haroon Ar Rashid and former Director Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin) were also present on the occasion.
In the meeting a committee was formed to settle problems or disputes that occur among buyers, buying houses and exporters.
The seven-member committee headed by BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim will mediate between aggrieved parties to resolve trade disputes.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said Bangladesh’s apparel industry has attained a glorious position over the last four decades as a preferred and trusted sourcing hub in the world.
Buying houses have significant contribution to the sector’s success, he added.
Faruque Hassan stressed on more collaborative and cooperative approach from buyers, buying houses and manufacturers while dealing business to create a win-win situation for all parties and the industry as a whole.
All need to work together to realize immense potential of the RMG sector and face different challenges in the coming days, he further said.
