Anamika Khanna will launch a new men’s wear offering at the forthcoming Lakme Fashion Week.
She will also present the latest collection of her youth-oriented brand AK-OK. The designer partnered with retail giant Reliance Brands to expand AK-OK in the Indian market. The brand AK-OK has evolved in recognition of rapidly changing lifestyles and has a design philosophy that is age and gender agnostic.
While the brand originates in India and holds intricate Indian nuances, every collection from AK-OK galvanizes design quirks and interesting silhouettes that transcend geographies. The aim is to present a unique design philosophy to Indian and global consumers.
AK-OK builds a world where it is completely okay to bring together the luxurious and the relaxed, to create a distinctly personal take on style and not be dictated by trends. Known for her traditional wear couture, Khanna has turned her attention to Gen Z and more experimental aesthetics with her ready-to-wear offering. The plan is to expand into categories like loungewear, home, accessories, and much more. Indian fashion brands are a strategic part of Reliance Brands’ luxury portfolio.
Lakme Fashion Week will run from October 12 to 16, 2022, in Mumbai, and will include a number of design contests and sustainable fashion initiatives as well as runway shows.
