Baazar Style Retail (BSRL) has reported a landmark standalone revenue of Rs 1,842.1 crore for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, marking a robust 37 per cent Y-o-Y growth. This performance surpassed management’s earlier guidance, catalyzed by a vigorous expansion strategy that saw the addition of 56 new stores during the fiscal year. By the close of FY26, the company’s total operational footprint reached 263 stores, primarily concentrated in the high-potential Tier II and Tier III cities of Eastern India. This regional focus has allowed the retailer to leverage a cluster-based logistics model, effectively managing distribution overheads while capturing a larger share of the value fashion segment.
Operational efficiency and consumer retention
Despite a broader industry shift toward premiumization, BSRL’s focus on affordable stylish merchandise has yielded consistent dividends. The company’s Same-Store Sales Growth (SSSG) demonstrated significant momentum, increasing to 8 per cent in Q4 FY26 compared to a 3 per cent annual average. This uptick underscores successful customer retention and improved store productivity, with sales per square foot rising to Rs 731 per month. To further solidify its market position against competitors like Zudio and V-Mart, the company has appointed KPMG to overhaul its internal audit and risk management frameworks. This move aims to streamline operational efficiency as the brand prepares to scale its private-label portfolio, which currently accounts for over 54 per cent of total revenue.
Scaling value fashion
Kolkata-based Baazar Style Retail operates ‘Style Baazar’ and ‘Express Baazar,’ dominant value-retail formats in West Bengal and Odisha. Since its 2013 founding, the firm has scaled to 263 stores. With a 37 per cent revenue growth in FY26, BSRL plans to deepen its presence in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, targeting sustained double-digit growth.
