One of India's top fashion retailers and a part of Trent, Westside has launched a new initiative called the Young New Game-changer (YNG) program. This program is designed to celebrate and support the next generation of fashion designers in India.
For its debut, Westside partnered with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), challenging students to re-imagine two of its most popular in-house brands, Bombay Paisley and ETA. The result is a new, bold, and Gen Z-inspired collection showcased under the new YNG label.
The first look of the YNG collection was unveiled on September 11, 2025 at Westside's Media Day, a creative event that brought together journalists, content creators, potential partners, and loyal customers. The event also featured a showcase of Westside's seasonal collections, offering a look at the brand's evolving creative direction.
The YNG program provides a professional platform for young designers, stylists, models, influencers, photographers, videographers, and hair and makeup artists to showcase their skills.
Shailina, COO, Westside, says, through YNG, the brand gave emerging talent an opportunity to design for real brands, build strong portfolios, and gain valuable industry experience. It was a true celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the entrepreneurial spirit of Gen Z.
The entire process was documented in a behind-the-scenes mini-series, ‘From Sketch to Store: The YNG Journey,’ which captured the energy and determination behind the scenes. Opening with celebrated design duo Saaksha & Kinni, the series highlighted the passion and vision that brought the YNG collections to life.
Through this initiative, Westside is strengthening its role as a purpose-driven lifestyle brand, empowering the next generation of fashion creatives and building a launchpad where bold ideas can transform into careers.
