KH House of Khaddar launches debut sustainable streetwear collection at NYFW

Kamal Haasan's sustainable fashion label, KH House of Khaddar, launched a sustainable streetwear collection titled, ‘Satura’ at the New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
Challenging the conventional notions of sustainable fashion, the runway show to launch the collection showcased a unique blend of traditional Indian textiles and modern streetwear aesthetics.
The collection gave a contemporary twist to classic Indian textiles with its range of oversized denim sets, distressed fabrics, and chunky zippers. Models graced the runway in a neutral color palette, inspired by nature, film, and art.
The collection featured a variety of sustainable materials, including tomato leather, khaddar denim pique knit, muslin Khadi, and circular mesh fabric. It showcased the brand's commitment to sustainability and ethical practices in each of its garment pieces.
Founded in 2022, KH House of Khaddar is joint venture between designer Amritha Ram and actor Kamal Haasan. The brand aims to introduce Indian craftsmanship to a global audience through its direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform. This latest collection enables KH House of Khaddar to strengthen its position as a leader in sustainable fashion.
