Snapdeal order volumes 2X, fashion category sees the highest growth
03 November 2021, Mumbai:
Snapdeal’s daily order volumes on sales days were more than double last year. Growth was led by strong performance across multiple categories.
The fashion category witnessed 254 percent growth in volumes while home and kitchen grew 101 percent over last year.
Other gainers this year included beauty and sports and fitness that saw 93 percent and 53 percent volume growth. Products from the religious and spirituality category grew 33 percent over last year's sales.
Demand from Tier III cities grew 91 percent over last year. About 58 percent of festive season orders came from Tier III cities, while Tier II and Tier I accounted for 15 percent and 27 percent of the order volumes. Sellers from Tier II and III cities also saw a 99 percent jump in sales orders compared to last year's sale event.
With a sharp focus on both quality and price, Snapdeal’s value e-commerce proposition is well-positioned to serve these requirements. Snapdeal’s fashion sales grew 210 percent in the first six months of 2021.
Growth was driven by users replenishing their wardrobes to meet work-from-home clothing needs. This includes mostly waist-up garments such as T-shirts, shirts, and tops. Another factor that drove fashion purchases was the desire to buy new clothes to meet friends and family after a long gap and to meet travel needs.
