TATA Group to launch “super app” for create edge for consumer-facing businesses

Tata Group plans to develop a new shopping app this year. The app will help bring its brands together to offer services such as grocery shopping, meal and medicine delivery, sales of electronic products plus online fitness packages. Tata is still developing the app's features and determining a go-to-market strategy, with the launch likely in phases, starting with some large cities, suggest media reports.
The pilot could begin as early as September in the southern city of Bengaluru, India's IT hub. Pratik Pal, CEO, Tata Digital will spearhead the app’s development. Pal has an extensive experience with retailers in 28 years at IT outsourcing unit Tata Consultancy Services.
