06 December 2021, Mumbai:
Sustainable fashion brand Pero is celebrating a week of interactive events, sales, and showcases in New Delhi. The event which will run till December 9, 2021, features designs from previous seasons where the brand has unsold stock alongside its latest designs. The brand is promoting the event with the tagline, ‘Relove, Revisit, and Relive’.
Pero’s winter collection features crochet garments made by a group of Afghani craftspeople and a wide range of textile techniques used to create whimsical patterns and prevent textile waste. The mix of crochet and panels of fabric creates intricate patterns in the brand’s signature bright color palette. Pero has earlier worked with a group of Afghani refugees to create engineered crochet garments which mix wool yarn and textiles.
The characteristic of the brand lies in the weaving process, where fabric and materials transfer from the hands of one artisan to another, bringing alive the Indian culture of handcrafting and designing pieces that are different. Pero reinvents classical styles to contemporary buyer’s aesthetics; its sensitivities evoke an impeccable statement in daily dressing.
