VegNonVeg, India's leading multi-brand sneaker and streetwear boutique, has dramatically expanded its presence and pivot towards a full-fledged fashion and cultural platform with the launch of its largest flagship store in Hyderabad's upscale Jubilee Hills. This three-level, 4,200 sq. ft. outlet is a decisive strategic move to cement the brand’s authority beyond sneakers and into global and homegrown apparel.
From sneaker niche to cultural nexus
Since its inception in 2016, VegNonVeg (VNV) has evolved from a footwear-centric retailer to a cultural force, currently boasting an annual revenue of ₹83.6 Cr (approx. US$10.1M) as of March 2024. The Hyderabad store is the clearest expression of its culture-to-commerce approach, designed to cultivate community and drive apparel sales, a growing segment that includes its influential private label streetwear.
The seamless blend of global and Indian threads
The store's innovative design, a collaboration with Shanghai-based AIM Architecture, uses the concept of a "hybrid, subcultural environment." It strategically showcases international apparel lines—like Y-3, Carhartt WIP, and ShinyaKozuka—alongside its in-house brand, which is known for blending global streetwear silhouettes with Indic elements like custom scripts and local textiles. A prime case study is the thoughtful use of Pochampally Ikat mats and ancient terracotta bricks within the industrial-chic space, grounding global fashion in the city's heritage."We wanted to build a space that feels open, real, rooted in the city's rhythm and feel part of something bigger," says Co-founder Abhineet Singh, highlighting the shift toward experiential retail.
The first floor is explicitly dedicated to apparel and accessories, complete with a True Black Coffee cafe terrace designed to encourage shoppers to linger and engage, turning a transaction into a lifestyle experience. The store features a sculpted amphitheater that doubles as a community stage for product drops, workshops, and performances, signaling VNV’s ambition to be the definitive cultural hub for India's creative youth and the burgeoning streetwear fashion market.
