'Bela Signora' Clothing brand with a Rajasthan touch
30th October 2021, Mumbai:
Bela Signora is a women’s clothing brand that opened in 2019.
Inspired by the culture of Rajasthan, the clothing and accessories are handmade keeping in mind all aspects of sustainability and current fashion trends.
At the current point of time, the brand is offering a wide range of traditional clothing as well as Indo-western wear, be it ghagra-choli, kanchli, or Kurti. Apart from traditional attire, there is also a wide range of Indo-western wear for women who like to flaunt a blend of tradition along with fashion.
The brand donates a reasonable part of its earnings to charities and humanitarian causes helping to better the lives of the underprivileged.
The ethnic wear industry in the country has evolved significantly. The rising female workforce is one reason.
There has been a rise in their purchasing power and awareness about fashion. The sari segment dominates the industry with a share of around 47 percent followed by salwar kameez and lehenga. Though women are getting attracted to western wear, traditional Indian clothes are still essential in most parts of the country, and hence the demand for them is expected to grow.
The ethnic wear industry has also garnered interest from celebrities who are investing in opening their own apparel lines.
