VIP Clothing has appointed Sunil Kumar Alagh as strategic advisor. He was managing director and chief executive officer at Britannia.
In his new role, he will work on the company’s brands, VIP, Frenchie, Feelings, Leader, and Brat, to help them build category leadership in India and in export markets. He will mentor the company and its portfolio of brands to enhance marketing and sales activities.
After Britannia, Alagh founded a consulting firm, SKA Advisors, which advises clients on marketing strategies and has advised several leading companies in India.
VIP is one of India’s leading intimate apparel companies providing intimate wear to consumers across various segments under different brands. It has a pan-India presence with one of the largest distribution networks.
In the coming three years, VIP Clothing plans to cross the 100-store mark through the franchise and an exclusive brand model and will launch new products across both online and offline channels. Since the online channel is growing faster and is going to be a key focus area, some products will be launched exclusively online. By the end of this financial year, VIP expects online to contribute about five per cent to seven per cent to the overall business pie. The company is focusing on marketing across digital channels.
