UNIREC is selling environmentally friendly clothing made from recycled PET bottles
30th November 2021, Mumbai:
Sustainable fashion is also gaining popularity in India's home market. UNIREC, a Mumbai-based company, has released a new recycled PET bottle collection. The fabric purchased by UNIREC's partners has been certified by the Global Recyclable Standard, assuring the product's authenticity.
T-shirts, shirts, trousers, blazers/jackets, and various accessories are part of the collection. Formal jackets, sleeveless jackets, pants, and other items are available at UNIREC.
Kapil Bhatia, CEO, and Founder of UNIREC has been manufacturing workwear and uniforms for small to very large corporates for more than 15 years and has been in the garment sector for over 20 years.
However, the influence of the environment and climate change on the whole human species has never been greater or more significant. While plastic and its products have their own set of advantages, it is their disposal that has a significant negative influence on our ecosystem.
"Not only are these clothes made of recycled textiles, but their carbon footprint is over 30% smaller than that of regular garments," he stated. Notably, the rise of sustainable garments has been phenomenal in such a short time, and demand for the material has skyrocketed.
