With expansion and monetization in mind, Flipkart is merging its customer and marketing teams

Flipkart, the e-commerce behemoth, wants to combine its customer and marketing divisions with development and monetization, with senior CEO Prakash Sikaria leading the charge.

According to the Economic Times, Sikaria, a senior vice president at Flipkart, would take on additional duties and head important sectors of the company following the internal merger, including growth, marketing, and new companies.

"Prakash [Sikaria] has been with Flipkart since 2015 and has made a tremendous impact by pioneering and developing influential projects like as Ads, Plus, Super coins, Games, Video, Travel, and Shopsy," Flipkart's CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said in a memo to company employees, according to ET Bureau. "Cleartrip will continue to report to Prakash in addition to this role."

According to the internal communication, the modifications to the corporate structure would take effect on January 1, 2022. Sikaria will lead the expansion of Flipkart's Shopsy social commerce platform. The platform debuted in July 2021 and had a fourfold increase in sales over the last holiday season.

Ayyappan R, a Myntra executive, has been named CEO of Flipkart's travel division, Cleartip. Nandita Sinha, a customer and marketing specialist, has been named CEO of Myntra, the company's fashion subsidiary, while CFO Ramesh Bafna and CMO Harish Narayanan have also left.
