The government of Karnataka (India) has given administrative clearance for a textile park
01 October 2021, Mumbai:
The Karnataka State Government has approved the establishment of a textile park at Guledgudda, Badami, North Karnataka. The clearance was provided on the condition that no financial help be sought from it for the park's establishment and that it be established in a public-private partnership (PPP).
The park, which was approved in the budget for 2021-22, would benefit the region's weavers by providing job possibilities.
According to media sources, all textile industry players will form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to develop the property, and after the units are built in the park, the government will provide incentives and subsidies. A minimum of 15 acres of land is required for the park.
The SPV will create a thorough project report under the direction of the department, and after the DPR is completed, the project will be moved ahead in accordance with the textile policy.
Former Chief Minister of the State and Leader of the Opposition in the Badami Assembly segment, Siddaramaiah, has asked that the government establish a textile park to assist weavers in the district.
