In this repurposed Banarasi dress, Taapsee Pannu makes a case for sustainable fashion
11 December 2021, Mumbai:
Sustainable fashion is finally becoming mainstream, with celebrities and fashion fans adopting responsible fashion choices, thanks to rising awareness of the dangers of rapid fashion on the environment. Actress Taapsee Pannu is the most recent person to turn attention to an upcycled piece of apparel.
Taapsee, who is known for speaking out on a variety of social and political topics, this time let her dress do the talking. For her recent appearance at the Filmfare OTT Awards, the star wore a recycled Banarasi outfit, making a case for sustainable fashion.
She wore a multicolored off-shoulder Banarasi dress with a corset bodice and frock bottom from designer Ashwin Thiyagarajan's latest vivid bohemian collection, and she looked as lovely as ever.
According to the designer, the garment combines "upcycled Banarasi panels from our past collections in current sophisticated designs." She accessorized the ensemble with simply a couple of large golden studs, keeping it simple and stylish. Taapsee finished her look with winged eyeliner, light eyeshadow, a bit of blush, and neutral lip color in a french braided hairdo.
