JJ Valaya to showcase latest Kapurthala collection at LFW x FDCI

Renowned fashion designer JJ Valaya will showcase his latest collection from his bridge-to-luxury brand, JJV Kapurthala, at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) x FDCI. Titled ‘Char,’ this season's collection is made from Relan’s eco-conscious fabrics.

The collection incorporates innovative materials like Greengold, crafted from recycled plastic bottles, and Kooltex for enhanced comfort. This collaboration highlights both parties' commitment to foster exceptional design talent while promoting sustainability and a more circular approach within the fashion industry.

This partnership exemplifies the company’s dedication to support top designers while advancing eco-friendly practices in textiles and fashion, states Hemant Sharma, President- Polyester, Reliance Industries.

House of Lakme collaborates with FDCI, RBL for Lakme Fashion Week

The House of Lakme has collaborated with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Reliance Brands (RBL) for much-anticipated event, Lakme Fashion Week.

Scheduled from March 13-17 at the Jio World Convention Centre, this event promises to redefine Indian fashion by intertwining narratives of style, beauty, modernity, and individual expression.

Established in 1952, the House of Lakme has been instrumental in shaping India's beauty landscape and championing fashion as a form of self-expression. This season, the platform aims to deliver an immersive experience, showcasing the latest innovations in fashion and beauty.

The festivities kick off with the GenNext show by INIFD on Day 1, followed by the premiere of a Fashion x Beauty Trend Magazine-LFW Edition, highlighting global trends in fashion, beauty, design, and lifestyle for 2024/25. The event will culminate with the House of Lakme Grand Finale on March 17, featuring an award-winning couturier's latest collection.

With over 400 members, the FDCI is dedicated to promoting and showcasing India's finest fashion and creative talent. This season, FDCI will spotlight handloom creations and 'Made in India' craftsmanship through three showcases, including FDCI presents 'Measure' and GQ X FDCI Men’s Edit, along with collaborations with Pearl Academy for 'First Cut'.

Anish Malpani of 'Without' will showcase his winning design from the Circular Design Challenge on a global stage. JJ Valaya will unveil his latest collection, JJV Kapurthala, at the R|Elan showcase during Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI.

The event will be live-streamed on various platforms including JioCinema, JioTV, and Lakme's social media handles, ensuring widespread access to audiences both in India and globally.

Dhruv Kapoor debuted his new collection 'Soul Tech' at Milan Fashion Week on Sunday with a futuristic, conceptual fashion film. The designer is taking part in MFW for the seventh time.

The fall/winter 2022/2023 collection by Kapoor is a vibrant, psychedelic combination of retro inspiration with a future, gender-fluid design.

According to Kapoor, the collection also incorporates even more ecological manufacturing practices, such as repurposing materials that have been dumped by huge organisations and treating them with print and colour to create new effects.

As he uploaded his fashion film on Facebook, Kapoor declared, "Reality is a flexible illusion, a continual construction." "Human beings sense and project at the same time.

Soul Tech looks at how soul science and technology have progressed—what was previously unseen is now becoming visible, and technology is now matching the vibration of this knowingness.

There's more to it than this illusion of 3-D reality." "This collection, in particular, communicates the global language of propelling into action," Kapoor said in an interview with Vogue India.

Dhruv Kapoor received his education at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi and the Istituto Marangoni in Milan. After working for multinational labels such as Etro, Kapoor created his own label.

The brand is available in India, Europe, the United States, Japan, Australia, the Middle East, and China.

Bangalore Times Fashion Week: Neeta Lulla closed the glittering event

30 December 2021, Mumbai:

Womenswear designer Neeta Lulla closed Bangalore Times Fashion Week on Wednesday evening with a glittering collection of lehengas and gowns featuring butterflies, opulent embellishments, and a classic feminine aesthetic. 

For the ‘Grand Finale’ of Bangalore Times Fashion Week, Lulla turned the runway into a butterfly garden and showcased an array of gowns and lehengas which mixed high octane glamour with an ethereal charm.

From more classic embellished red ensembles to sleek and sultry gowns in black and silver, the collection had a variety of silhouettes. 
 
Some gowns lit up in the dark to give the feeling of a fairy realm and they were presented against a stage lit up in thousands of tiny lights. The collection culminated in a full, voluminous gown featuring rainbow ruffles, glittering butterflies, a sequinned cape, and a bejeweled bodice.

Neeta Lulla’s eponymous brand is based in Mumbai and retails from its dedicated e-commerce store and stores in Delhi and Mumbai. 
 
Times Group held the sixth edition of Bangalore Times Fashion Week from December 28 to 29 and streamed the event live on Flipkart Video for Flipkart app users. The fashion week featured an array of Indian clothing and jewellery designers and aimed to promote sustainable approaches to design.
