06 December 2021, Mumbai:
Pollution is a big issue in Delhi-NCR; yet, a few garment factories have been discovered to be in violation of the region's regulations. As a result, the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has shut down three unlawful textile factories that were employing diesel generators.
Notably, the units have been punished as well. These units were discovered to be running on diesel generators and boilers, both of which have been banned in the region due to poor air quality.
"Our investigators discovered three garment units functioning without any permit in Sarai Kale region of the district," said Kuldeep Singh, Regional Officer, HSPCB, Gurugram. They were also employing diesel generators and boilers. The units were shut, and a penalty was also imposed." There have been instances in the past where pollution control agencies have taken harsh measures.
