Welspun India has teamed up with DuPont Biomaterials to create a new line of home textiles

Welspun India, a leading home textiles company, said on Monday that it has collaborated with DuPont Biomaterials to create a bio-based home textile collection that includes bath towels and bedsheets.

Cotton and DuPont's Sorona brand of fibers — produced from 37% renewable plant-based materials and offering a high-performing, sustainably sourced material choice — are combined to create home textile textiles, according to the firm.

Sorona polymer-based fibers are now utilized in a variety of clothing applications, including athleisure and sportswear, insulation, swimwear, outerwear, suiting, fake fur, and more, according to the company.

"Our cooperation with the DuPont Biomaterials team is a key step towards our goal to provide value-added solutions to meet tomorrow's issues through a sustainable approach without sacrificing on performance and value," stated Dipali Goenka, CEO and Joint MD of Welspun India.

She claims that while Sorona fibers have been utilized in the fashion clothing industry for some time, "We realized there was potential to exploit the practical benefits of Sorona fibers in the home textile market by keeping connected to our consumers.

Our innovation team created towels and bedsheets as a first step, combining a variety of essential capabilities, and we plan to develop more goods and features in the future ".
