Gimatex expands by opening 2 new manufacturing facilities

19 April 2022, Mumbai:

On its 25th anniversary, textile manufacturer, Gimatex has expanded by opening two new manufacturing facilities, namely the 10 TPD Open End Unit at Wani and the 25 TPD Spinning Unit at its Hinganghat Integrated Textile Park.

The Mohota Group company also launched a premium e-commerce apparel brand ‘Minus One’ at the event during the occasion.

The new Open End Unit at Wani manufactures recycled fibre based fabrics while the spinning facility at the Hinganghat Integrated Textile Park adds 32,000 spindles to the existing capacity of 1,68,000 spindles.

Combined, these new units create additional employment for 500 people.

Gimatex’s new apparel brand Minus One Gimatex adds tremendous value to the cotton lifecycle.

The brand uses only Vidharbha cotton in its products to support local farmers and alleviate their difficulties.

Vishal Fabrics plans to add another facility

19 April 2022, Mumbai:

Vishal Fabrics plans to add another facility to manufacture 10 million meters of denim fabrics per annum in H2FY23.

The company recently added another facility to manufacture 10 million meters of denim fabrics per annum.

Currently, it has eight denim manufacturing facilities with an annual capacity of 80 million meters per annum.

The two new facilities will boost the annual capacity to 100 million meters per annum at Dholi Unit.

Total investment in this project will be Rs 30 crore and funded by internal accruals.

It will ramp up the production of denim fabric without incurring any additional costs for any other process/machinery.

The two new facilities will also help Vishal Fabrics to cater to domestic and export demand for denim fabrics. Brijmohan Chiripal, Managing Director says, these investments will lay the groundwork for the company's next phase of expansion.

They will enhance its market reach and grow its share in the global denim segment, he adds.

FM: Textile Inverted Duty Structure to be taken up @ forthcoming meet

18 April 2022, Mumbai:

Fresh strike on inverted textile duty.

Finance ministry officials said the inverted duty structure in textile was deferred at the last meeting and would be taken up at the forthcoming meeting.

The GST Council plans to take up the vexed issue of inverted duties on textiles at its meeting likely later this month.

In December, the council had dropped plans to hike the GST rates for most textile products in the man-made fibre value chain to 12 percent from 5 percent amid protests from the industry in Gujarat and other states.

PRATIBHA SYNTEX LTD: Recognized twice last week

The industry has been feted by FMPCCI as the Recruiter of the Year Award and CITI’s Birla Economic & Textile Research Foundation Award for sustainable and innovative manufacturing in textile mills.

During the golden jubilee celebration of CITI CDRA held in New Delhi on April 12, 2022.

Notably, Pratibha Syntex had entered into collaboration with Good Fashion Fund for the replacement and expansion of their spinning, processing, and garmenting divisions. The new machines are energy and water-efficient.

Recently the effluent treatment plant has also been converted into a biological process, reducing landfill waste by 85%. Rooftop solar panels of 2.4 MW have also been installed and another 4 MW is underway.

Felicitating the drive to empower people, the Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented the recruiter of the year award on April 10, 2022, during a program held at Bhopal.

Honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh Shri Mangubhai Patel presented the award to Mr. H S Jha Vice President HR, Pratibha Syntex Ltd. “I am humbled by the recognition and awards are a reflection that we are on right track.

PRATIBHA SYNTEX LTD: Recognized twice last week

S Kumars’ promoters and directors booked for fraud

14 April 2022, Mumbai:

Fourteen promoters and directors of textiles major S Kumars Nationwide have been booked for an alleged bank fraud worth Rs 1,245 by the CBI.

The Central investigation agency conducted a search in 13 of the company’s locations in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and West Bengal and recovered incriminating documents from there.

As per these documents, the manufacturer of high-value cotton fabrics and home textiles had availed credit from a consortium of banks led by the IDBI bank.

The promoters and directors of the company have been booked for misusing the bank’s funds from 2012 to 2018, causing a Rs 1,245.15 crore loss to the banks.

The complaint was filed by the IDBI Bank on behalf of four other member banks of the consortium, namely, Central Bank of India, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, PNB, and Indian Bank, as per RC Joshi, a CBI spokesperson.

Global Textile Trade fair, Atlanta on 9-11 June: Indian Pavilion

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is organizing a Pavilion at the Global Textile Trade fair,9-11 June, Atlanta, USA.

The US and India are the top major contributors to the textile and clothing trade across the world. For apparel, the US is one of the top importing countries across the world and India is among the top five exporting countries.

The US accounted for 35 percent of India's textile exports in the year 2020.

Apparel and home textiles together accounted for more than 90 percent of the total textile and clothing exports with a share of 52.7 and 40.8 percent respectively.

Textile PLI Sops: The list making the cut for it

Monte Carlo Fashions Ltd, Arvind Ltd, Trident Ltd, and Kimberly Clark India Pvt. Ltd are among 61 Indian textiles companies that have qualified for the government’s ambitious production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for the sector

The Union Government today (Apr 14) said it has approved 61 applications with an investment potential of over Rs 19,000 crore under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles.

Textile Secretary U P Singh said that a total of 67 proposals were received under the PLI scheme for the textiles sector.

A total of 67 companies had applied for the incentives scheme.

The government had approved the PLI scheme for Textiles products like MMF apparel, MMF fabrics and products of technical textiles for enhancing manufacturing capabilities and boosting exports with an approved financial outlay of Rs 10,683 crore over a five-year period.

Out of 67 applications, 15 were received under Part-1 and 52 under Part-2, the official said.

PLI for Textiles: Govt approves Textile companies application

The government on Thursday said it has approved 61 applications of companies, including Ginni Filaments, Kimberly Clark India, and Arvind, with an investment potential of over Rs 19,000 crore under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles.
