Indian Terrain, a first for a clothing brand to get 'Fairtrade stamp'

16 November 2021, Mumbai:

'Indian Terrain' a leading Apparel brand has recently launched a line of T-shirts, currently for its men’s and boy’s wear, which will be supported with 'The Fairtrade stamp', and becomes the first Indian Hi-Street clothier.

It is expected to appeal to discerning consumers who shop their values as in USP giving it an edge over the competition

Fundamentally it is a seal of sustainability in the supply chain principally 'end-to-end production process of a product',

The FAIRTRADE Mark is a registered certification label for products sourced from producers in developing countries. It appears on products as an independent guarantee that a product has been produced according to Fairtrade political standards. Fairtrade Standards contain minimum requirements that all producer organisations must meet to become certified.

Fairtrade Mark is the certification seal of International's rigorous Standards. As the caveat, this London-headquartered organisation has put out on its website, “It is all about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.”
