Crocs to acquire 'Heydude footwear Brand'

24 December 2021, Mumbai: 

Crocs Inc said on Thursday it would buy privately owned footwear label Heydude for $2.5 billion, as the rubber clogs maker looks to cash in on the pandemic-led surge in demand for casual shoes.

Consumers stuck at home during the lockdowns last year ditched dress shoes for more

comfortable footwear, benefiting companies such as Crocs and Ugg brand owner Deckers Outdoor Corp, Demand has remained firm this year.

Crocs said it would pay $2.05 billion in cash, funded mostly by a term loan, and $450 million in Crocs shares issued to Heydude founder and Chief Executive Alessandro Rosano.

Hyosung Fashion Design Center (FDC) presents 'AW 22/23 Textile Trends'

Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) observes its 100 years

Pioneer in creating Bangladesh’s textile engineers, Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) has observed its 100 years. To mark this unique occasion BUTEX arranged a grand ‘University Day’ party on December 22, 2021 at university premises Dhaka.

The University had started its journey in 1921, had a magnificent history. Since then, it has been greatly contributing to the economic growth of Bangladesh.

And especially in developing the textile and apparel industry of the country. Textile graduates from this university have been shaping up the textile industry and made the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ tag a global fashion craze.

To observe this day, BUTEX launched a series of programs and activities, beginning with a celebration in the university field. all the staff, students, alumni, local community and important political influential were present at the event. Professor Md. Abul Kashem, Vice-Chancellor, BUTEX declared the start of the event by cutting a cake with teachers, students and senior leaders of BUTEX alumni, which was followed by a grand rally.

After that, an open discussion took place where veteran textile engineers, alumni leaders of the ex-students community, deans of faculties gave their valued speeches on the occasion. As the chief guest, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Home Minister were present on the program.

Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) observes its 100 years

London Textile Fair now to happen on March 2022

The biggest textile fair in the UK. With 500 exhibitors, TLTF is the UK’s premier platform for fashion fabrics, apparel accessories, print studios, and vintage garments.

Held at the Business Design Centre twice a year, it’s an unmissable event for all industry professionals to be held on 22/23 MARCH 2022.

The London Textile Fair is the first industry show of the season, showcasing pre-collections from 500, mostly European, exhibitors.

The show takes place twice a year in January and July and it is now the biggest textile exhibition within the UK and one of the largest in Europe. In response to the need for a dedicated trade exhibition in London, the show has developed into a quality event, attracting the most influential buyers and designers from the major high-street retail stores as well as independent designers and buyers from their contract manufacturers.
