Payal Singhal launches Spring/Summer’22 collection with Ensemble

Designer Payal Singhal’s eponymous ready-to-wear brand has launched its Spring/Summer’22 collection ‘Folklore’ in partnership with multi-brand luxury Indian fashion boutique Ensemble at its Kala Ghoda store in Fort, Mumbai.

The, bohemian-style collection fuses jewel tones with crafty details. It features kalidar shararas in rich colors, embellished lehengas, flat kaftans, and fusion-style co-ord sets.

The Olomi embroidery of the collection blends with the kantha from Bengal, kashida from Kashmir and phulkari from Punjabi, adds Singhal.

Inspired by Gond art, the PS Prints have a geometric bent and depict folk tales set in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh, similar to how stories were embroidered on quilts and fabrics in the past.”

Fluid and genderless, the collection was launched with a new campaign featuring androgynous aesthetics. Its textiles and crafts are inspired by states across India as well as from the brand archives, namely its 'India in Colour' collection from 2009.

HoliChic by Megha forays into menswear

09 April 2022, Mumbai:

Clothing and accessories brand HoliChic by Megha has forayed into menswear collection comprising brocade blazers,kurta-style shirts, printed sweaters, etc.

The line is designed to be mixed and matched with desi and western wear and features accents of traditional textiles.

The brand has also launched a ‘gender neutral’ collection with a dedicated segment on its e-commerce store. The collection features garments like oversized, printed shirts with contrast-fabric pocket details.

Gender-neutral clothing is becoming increasingly popular both in the US and India and many brands have launched such lines to appeal to a Gen Z audience.

Indian-American fashion designer Megha Rao launched HoliChic with the aim of blending Indian and western styles to create an eclectic yet casual aesthetic for a global audience.

Chip Bergh, President, and CEO, Levi Strauss & Co says, the four major trends currently shaping India’s retail landscape include sustainability, digitization and e-commerce, and supply chain resilience.

Bergh says sustainability has become a global phenomenon across generations. Younger consumers are particularly focused on the sustainability factor in apparel, he adds.

On its part, Levi’s reduces its environmental footprint by using fibers such as hemp and curbing water usage.

Berg also emphasizes the importance of technology in the apparel value chain.

Levi’s launches 2nd edition of collection with Deepika Padukone

Levi’s has launched the second edition of Levi’s x Deepika Padukone collection.

Futuristic and vibrant, the collection reflects freshness, ease and bright happy colors.

A little lose and slouchier than regular, the collection is inspired by Padukone’s signature cool athleisure-meets-effortlessly sexy style.

It features elevated dyeing techniques, hybrid silhouettes, and utility elements in a mix of spirit-lifting colors and earthy neutrals.

Some of the pieces that stand-out in the collection include an off-the-moment co- ord that gets a summery, almost DIY upgrade.

It also includes a Levi’s ® throwback-inspired 90’s Trucker and high-waist taper fit and an extra wide-leg fit made of Hydro-dipped Indigo or an all-over rainbow marbling. Denim features extensively in the collection.

It takes the form of vintage-inspired, super versatile, high-rise, high flare and slim straight jeans featuring a retro rise with a curve-hugging fit and a slight stacking in the latter.

The High Loose and High Loose Taper styles have an easy casual appeal with a tapered leg for a vintage-inspired look.

Women’s high loose jeans have an on-trend waist- emphasizing high rise look which is loose through the hip and thigh for the ultimate relaxed fit.

The collection also features a High Waisted Cropped Flare, yet another high rise, relaxed through the hip and thigh with a flare at the ankle.

Levi’s launches 2nd edition of collection with Deepika Padukone

Westside: 200th shop opened

07 April 2022, Mumbai:

Trent Ltd., a Tata Group company, has opened the 200th Westside shop in India, marking a significant milestone.

The shop, which is located in Borivali West, Mumbai, is 28,000 square feet and will include Trent's newest brands, such as 'Zudio' and 'Star Bazaar.' In the following months, the firm intends to continue its development goals by opening more locations around the country.

Men's, women's, and children's clothing, as well as home furnishings, are all available at Westside.

Max Fashion recently celebrated a similar milestone with the opening of its 400th store in India. In addition, numerous more brands and merchants are expanding their store locations.

In addition, Biba, a prominent fashion and lifestyle brand, just opened a store in Tokyo's Nishikasai neighborhood (Japan).

"We are happy to inaugurate the 200th Westside shop today," Noel Tata, Chairman of Trent Ltd., said in a statement.
