Actress Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in as the new brand ambassador to endorse the wearables category of lifestyle brand Boat.

Mandanna also features in the brand’s women’s day campaign ‘#DanceThroughLife’.

She will promote the brand’s newly launched ‘Trebel’ collection.

Her popularity will help the brand strengthen its presence in South India and boost sales of its wearables category.

The home division of Birla Century is set to launch its flagship brand Hill & Glade catering to the home bedding segment.

The brand will provide a plethora of choices in both color and quality on the basis of the preferences of the customers.

Hill & Glade will launch over 250 eye-catching designs in a range of colors encompassing solids as well as prints for the discerning consumer.

The brand will offer choices in four different qualities.

It will provide Basic, Essential, Premium, and Grandeur, in thread counts of 160, 210, 300, and 400 respectively.

Birla Century Home to launch new home bedding brand

Russia at war: Hermès to Shut Russian Stores

05 March 2022, Mumbai:

The world's leading luxury brands said on Friday that they planned to temporarily close stores and pause business operations in Russia.

Birkin bag maker Hermes and Cartier owner Richemont were the first firms to announce such moves, followed by LVMH (LVMH.PA), Kering (PRTP.PA), and Chanel.

Doing business in Russia has become complex since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which prompted the United States, Britain, and the European Union to impose sweeping sanctions.

"Given our increasing concerns about the current situation, the growing uncertainty, and the complexity to operate, Chanel decided to temporarily pause its business in Russia," the French luxury fashion house said in a LinkedIn post.

Luxury giant LVMH, which owns such brands as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Kenzo, TAG Heuer, and Bulgari among others, will close its 124 boutiques in Russia from Sunday but will continue to pay the salaries for its 3,500 employees in the country, a spokesperson told Reuters.

MoonRay launches new footwear range

New womenswear brand MoonRay has expanded its clothing and accessories collection on e-commerce store by launching a new plant-based vegan leather footwear range.

The new range comprises a Raffia Slide, made out of 100 per cent plant-based vegan leather and hand embroidered with the brand’s signature MoonRay design. Designed to be functional and sustainable, the footwear line includes a wide array of slip-on designs featuring eye, star, and floral motifs.

The new brand is also adding to its product categories to offer a full wardrobe and accessories solution.

The brand recently launched a line of 22-carat gold-plated jewelry range of celestial motifs and quirky yet wearable designs and has also launched a range of handbags and casual and occasion wear.

MoonRay was launched by designer and bridal wear brand Jade’s co-founder Karishma Swali alongwith her daughter Avantika Swali in December, 2021.

It launched with an e-commerce store and studio space.

The brand targets a younger customer base with prices in the bridge-to-luxury segment of the market and has pledged 50 per cent of its proceeds to support children’s education and animal welfare through NGOs.

MoonRay launches new footwear range

Vanilla Moon secures funding from HSBC for new UK headquarters

02 March 2022, Mumbai:

Vanilla Moon, the women’s footwear wholesale business of India-based footwear business Leiner Shoes has secured a funding package from UK bank HSBC to open a new headquarters in the UK.

Vanilla Moon will open a 1,300-sq-ft UK headquarters in central London this month.

The headquarters will serve as a permanent base for Vanilla Moon and enable it to expand its online retail operations across both the UK and Europe. The company will start recruiting employees for its new London business and hire five UK-based employees and around 40 candidates in India.

The new headquarters will boost the company’s customer base and sales. Launched in 2007, Vanilla Moon manufactures mid-market to high-end women’s footwear. The business aims to replicate the growth of its sister brand Jvam in Japan in the UK and European market.

Campus Activewear opens 100th store in Mumbai

PUMA EXTENDS W SERIES PARTNERSHIP AND SIGNS EMMA KIMILÄINEN FOR 2022 SEASON

Sports comApany PUMA has extended its partnership with W Series, the international single-seater motor racing championship for female drivers and has signed Finnish driver Emma Kimiläinen for the PUMA W Series Team in 2022.

In 2021, PUMA Motorsport tailored racewear specifically for female drivers for the very first time.

As part of the company’s women’s platform, She Moves Us, PUMA will continue to supply bespoke racewear during W Series’ third on-track season. PUMA, which is a partner of some of the most successful names in motorsport, has supplied high-performance, flame-retardant racewear for W Series’ drivers since the inaugural season in 2019.

Emma Kimiläinen has won two races in her two seasons with W Series. Her victory at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium last August kicked off a run of four consecutive podium finishes, which saw the 32-year-old end the season in third place in the championship.

“I am very proud to be racing for the PUMA W Series Team this year. With their She Moves Us campaign, our brand and values fit together perfectly and, being a professional athlete at the top level and a mother, I hope to inspire girls and women chasing their dreams in sports,” Emma Kimiläinen said.

She will now look to take her excellent form into the 2022 W Series season, which consists of support races at eight Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends, starting in Miami, USA, in May.

The PUMA W Series Team finished sixth in last year’s inaugural teams’ championship and Emma’s team-mate will be announced in due course.

W Series has become one of the key pillars of our women’s campaign, She Moves Us, which celebrates women who move culture and sports forward and inspire others around the world,” said James Clark, Head of Sports Marketing Motorsport & Operations at PUMA.

PUMA’s campaign “She Moves Us” wants to empower girls and young women through sharing stories and joint efforts to impact girls and women’s rights globally.
